Michelle’s journey: mastering healthcare reimbursement and beyondMichelle brings over two decades of expertise in the healthcare reimbursement industry. Along the way, she’s honed her exceptional skills in navigating the complex world of medical claims, payments, and denials.
Michelle's career began in Human Resources as a Benefit Liaison, where she helped employees navigate their healthcare benefits. She then joined Aetna, focusing on patient education and accurate claims processing. Her journey continued at CaremarkCVS's infusion therapy department, overseeing the approval of significant infusion drug orders and securing payments. After moving to northeast Nebraska, she deepened her skills in medical coding and billing, obtaining certification from the AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders). Michelle eventually relocated to Arizona to support her husband's studies at Arizona State University, where the couple still live today. When Michelle launched Medical Reimbursement Experts 16 years ago, it initially focused on helping physicians and medical professionals with securing payments from health insurers. |
She soon expanded her services to play a key role in helping patients navigate medical billing, assisting lawyers in resolving medical-related legal cases, and consulting with innovators of FDA-approved medical products to establish vital connections with healthcare providers.
Her experience spans a diverse range of specialties including Family Medicine, OBGYN, DME-Orthotics and Prosthetics, Infusion Therapy, Urology, Podiatry, Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Nutrition Therapy, and Psychiatric Services. As a Certified Professional Coder, her extensive background offers valuable insights and a deep understanding of the financial aspects of healthcare.
Michelle's venture, Medical Reimbursement Experts, is more than a business; it's a commitment to excellence and learning, as evidenced by its memberships with the AAPC Scottsdale Chapter and various volunteering and mentoring within her local community.
